The Happy Poem

You are wiser than you think you are And there is no reason for you to ever believe That serenity and peace is a dream too far
For, peace of mind is a thing you need Same for joy, and grace indeed And let us not forget, the power of love The green of a leaf and the white of a dove And the magic of being the way you want to be This world, my child, has many great sights to see So put on your shoes and trek around I wish you thrill and kicks abound Love your life, love the way it goes And keep on grasping the many lessons it shows Find your bliss in the warmth of your kin But be sure and strong, develop a hard skin And don't ever lose the wonder in your eyes The red of the sun and the blue of the skies Ride on your faith, give it a fair chance As the famous song goes, I hope you dance

The Journey of Life

Let not the journey of others Be the road map for you to follow Let your journey be a journey of love, Of discovery and explorations Not of material things, so shallow
Be grateful for what you receive And stay happy, meditative and kind And if ever you get befuddled and sad I hope you'd be able to calm yourself down By exercising your mindful mind
For, towards the end of your life, you'd realise That it doesn't matter how much you earned, But who you met and the lives you touched And the days and the nights that were spent in joy, In love and in peace; and the lessons you learned

A Funny Take on Life

Didn't you know
Life's not fair?
Did you ever
go missing in the fair?
Would you say
They don't really care?
In that classic race,
Are you the hare?

Do you feel you talk more
Than your friends ever share?
Have you still not found
Your ideal pair?
Do you often find yourself
Giving them a cold stare?

Tell you what,
You just need some fresh air
Or maybe grow back your hair
Or, if you are wild, have an affair!
This life's like one big bubble,
Before it bursts, go out there
And dare!

Love for Children

As I struggled to breath a sigh of relief after a hard day at school today, little Armaan ran towards me and touched my feet. I always tell him not to do so; he doesn't listen to me. I gave him a hug and then he went away. He is not my student, not even in my school, and yet we have formed a special bond. People talk about love in different contexts. For me, love is the reason that I wake up every morning to leave for school despite sleeping late at night, continue teaching even when my throat aches and voice cracks and keep thinking about my children even when there are other relevant things to think about.

The Power is in You

If love seems elusive,
Dreams appear distant,
Joy is missing,
And peace is nonexistent,
Turn your life around
This. Very. Instant.

On Kindness

Since love is not very easy to find,
Let us be a little more kind
To the ones whose lives are aligned
With the lives we have been assigned

Love Story 2012

They first met on a rainy day and it looked to them like a setting in a commercial bollywood movie. There were thousands of people squabbing and arguing with each other over traffic jams and parking issues. However, they  were least bothered about anything other than the two of them at that moment. Lost in each other’s eyes, they shared many a lovely feelings and thoughts about themselves and each other. Life, at that moment, looked perfect and complete to both of them. After their brief friendship and courtship, Gaurav was looking forward to start something even more meaningful with Ayesha, and a steady relationship and love was all he was hoping from her side.

A year has gone by and Ayesha is no longer a part of Gaurav's life. He loved her from the core of his heart but she had other things in her mind. For her, love was not a priority in life at that time. She looked for seemingly bigger, better, more tangible things in  life and he couldn't provide those things to her.

Gaurav has always wished, and still wish, the best for Ayesha, who now is no longer in touch with him. He doesn’t judge her or label her as materialistic; he is completely sure she witnessed situations and events in her life which have convinced her to be this way. But the events that took place in Gaurav's life over that one year has led him to conclude that the one standing next to you today might not stay there on another day. People come and go, and it’s best not to get too attached to them. He is doing well professionally and looking for a partner.

Missing You Today

You met me in the strangest of situations.
You took care of me when there was nobody else to take care of me.

Given a choice, I’d really like to let you know how much loved and cared I felt during that time.
Given a choice, I’d like you to be my friend forever, so we can create more stories than just that one.
Given a choice, I’d run up to you now and give you a hug.

But since I haven’t any choice, I’d only think about you tonight, and cherish the memories we shared.
Sadly, the memories make me feel more sad than happy.

Losing you was inevitable as you were never mine.
I hadn’t any clue not being close to you anymore would be this hard.

Maybe, someday, I’ll get to see you again.
And if we ever meet, don’t forget to hug me.
Only God knows how long I have been waiting for it.
